[Podcast] The Editor Is (Almost) Always Right

Dec 28, 2020

by Melissa Parks and Dave Goetz

Every writer needs a editor, a professional partner in the creative process.

We all fear the idea of someone making judgments about our writing. The editing process can make us feel exposed. The only thing worse, though, than hyper-critical feedback is no feedback at all, and you end up publishing a second-rate book because you refused professional advice.

There are two kinds of editing that you will need as you write your book: developmental editing and, at the end, a stiff line edit.

In this episode, we provide four questions that you will want to ask as you work with an editor. Even if you are not able to find a professional editor, you can find readers to help you with clarity, flow, and structure.
